I find it fun to go out and try to capture the light in plein air painting. I also have a love for drawing animals ever since I was a little kid. In my teenage years I entered art school. After graduating in 1983 at the San Francisco Art University in California with 2 BFA’s. I continued creating art. There was a period where I decided to take a break from doing art for personal reasons. Now I am making up for lost time over the last year or so. I also studied under Henri Henche for one week at a seminar he had. He was an impressionistic painter. He opened up my eyes to color. I learned about painting under the sun. I also learned about plein air painting. I find that painting outside under the sun, really teaches you a lot about color. Currently I create lots of colorful pets from folks photos. I catch the “feeling” of folks pets in the commissions that I create. I also try to get out and paint outside when I can. I have fun doing plein air painting, which really helps me with the pet portrait commissions that I love to do  as well. Here you will see some of my plein air paintings as well as my pet portraits!
