There’s an art movement that has been going on since the late 1800’s it goes by the term Plein Air painting, simple means painting outdoors. For me as a landscape artist it is the purest form of painting true natural light. An ideal art form for telling stories, documenting history and recording nature’s bounty. My experience from painting outdoors has given me the skills I need to paint in my studio. From my real life sketches and studies I can recreate and feel what it was that originally made me want to capture that moment in time. I paint in Oil and Pastel, each have their wonders and challenges. When changing from one medium to another it takes skill and knowledge of the medium but this offers the challenges I require to be an artist. It is my I hope my paintings will inspire you to come along with me on my journey.
